Nick Fury Concept

Some concept of Nick Fury with a slightly different backstory. The idea was that he not only lead a team of Howling Commandos, but he did so under the alias: Captain America. Few people new of the super soldier, and fewer believed he wasn't simply a myth. So the US used this to its advantage when replacing Steve Rodgers. Given a "knock-off" version of the Super Soldier Serum, special ops soldier Nick Fury gained enhanced abilities and became Captain America.

Nick "Captain America" Fury lead his Howling Commandos to take out the Viet Kong, and they were pretty darn good at it too. But an unfortunate accident left Fury blind in his right eye, causing him to step down as Captain America.

Other soldiers including, Bucky Barnes, and Frank Castle also operated under the name Captain America only to have some sort of tragedy cause them to step down. So basically Captain America is the Armies version of Macbeth.
